Greg has 30 plus years in the construction industry, most of which involved industrial and commercial electrical installations. Bob Bell

Bob Bell, the newest inside salesman for Houston Lighting, is originally from the St. Louis area but has called Texas home since 1981. Bob has been in the electrical industry for 34 years now and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Houston Quotes Department. He started working in counter sales in 1983. For the last 11 years, Bob has worked for two different pole manufacturers as a Regional Sales Manager. In Bob’s spare time he enjoys a good game of golf!

Brittany Bussey is the newest member of the Houston Lighting team. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Business Foundations from the University of Houston in 2016. After working for a while as a Fitness Specialist, she decided to move into the Lighting industry and joined the inside sales team at Bell & McCoy. In her free time Brittany enjoys coaching cheerleading, working out and running.

Houston Lighting has a new Outside Salesperson, David Johnson. David was born in Pittsburgh, PA and attended Clarion University of Pennsylvania on a D1 wrestling scholarship where he earned a Bachelor’s in History. David enlisted in the United States Army as an intelligence analyst in 2005 and deployed 3 times in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is still currently serving in the US Army Reserve. Needless to say, we are honored to have David on our team.

Laura Mercado

Laura Mercado joins the Bell & McCoy Lighting and Controls team in Houston as inside sales. If the name sounds familiar it is because Laura previously worked in our San Antonio lighting office. She's a proud graduate of the University of Maryland and received her BA in foreign languages. Laura speaks fluent English, Spanish, and Italian. She recently moved back to Houston and is enjoying her new role at Bell & McCoy. In her spare time Laura enjoys hanging out with her son, wine tasting, exercising, and anything outdoors.

Steve Simpson Named 2015 Danney Van McCoy Employee of the Year

We are pleased to announce that STEVE SIMPSON is the recipient of our 2015 Danney Van McCoy Employee of the Year Award!  This award recognizes one of our employees as someone with outstanding passion and desire, who bettered our business and performed above all others.  

Steve is our Oklahoma territory manager.  He started with Bell & McCoy in 2006 after spending time at Borders States as our customer and our friend.  Steve and his team have won the Legrand Circle of Excellence award three out the last five years and were recognized in the opening comments of the Legrand National Sales Meeting last January.  As many of you know, Steve will help anyone at any time with anything and he applies that attitude to his professional and personal life.  Please join us in congratulating Steve on this award!

Rob Duncan has been promoted to Vice-President of Lighting and Controls for Bell & McCoy Companies.  Rob started our first lighting and controls business in June 2006 and has worked hard to build our team and make us a viable rep in the Houston market. Rob has a degree from Texas A & M University and prior to Bell & McCoy spent 10 years with Lutron Electronics. Rob has a huge passion to help us grow overall and in his new role he will be working with all the General Managers to help them build their businesses to even bigger levels than they are today. This is a new position for us and much needed as our business has grown considerably over the last 5 years.

Jim Mohr has been promoted to General Manager of Bell & McCoy Lighting and Controls Houston. Jim started with us in November 2014 as our lighting sales manager and in a short time has done a great job in gaining the confidence of our people and customers in his ability to lead this business.  Jim is also a graduate of Texas A & M University and prior to us worked in lighting manufacturing and in the rep business in North Texas. I am excited to watch Jim grow with us and expand on an already very successful business.

Dan McCoy Retirement and Legacy Award

Danney McCoy has announced his retirement, effective May 30, 2014.  Danney founded Bell & McCoy 42 years ago. The Houston Electrical League honored Danney with their prestigious Legacy Award.  A $2,000 scholarship will be given in his name every year to a deserving student.  The Legacy Award honors individuals who have been supporters of the H.E.L. and made a substantial impact on our industry.  Congratulations Danney Van McCoy!

William Ellis "Buddy" Binyon (1945-2014)

William Ellis "Buddy" Binyon, 68, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. Buddy was born on March 4, 1945, in Odessa to Nicholas and Heloise Binyon.  He enjoyed the water and all things about it. He especially enjoyed boating, fishing, "bobbing," sunrises, sunsets, night riding, and most of all his family and friends.  Buddy's career in the electrical industry spanned over 40 years. He joined Bell & McCoy in 1972 as a principal owner. Throughout his time in the industry, he was considered a leader, mentor, confidante, trainer, supporter and, most of all, a friend.  He was a passionate man who had a true spirit for living life to the fullest. He cherished his family. Survivors: His wife and best friend of 48 years, Irene; son, Jason and his wife, Gina; daughters, Paige Lonibos and her husband, Neil, and Stacy Binyon; grandchildren, Tanner, Trace and Ty Binyon, Ashton, Braeden and Cason Lonibos; brothers, Nick and his wife Beverly, and Gary Binyon ; sister, Tricia Adcox and husband, Charles; as well as loving nieces and a nephew.   Tribute Video
